Mount Everest

       Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world .It lies in Sagarmatha zone, Solukhumbu district, North of Namchebazar in Nepal.It is listed in the list of world heritage by UNESCO. It is 8,848 metres high .It is commonly known as 'Sagarmatha' in Nepali which means head of heaven or highest place .So,many people all around the world are attracted towards Mount Everest. 

                                   Mount Everest is the hihest peak in the world and lies in Nepal was popularized by an Indian citizen Radhanath Sikundar . The office where he worked in survey department Boss's name was George Everest ,so the name became Mount Everest .Later on, Baburam Acharya kept it's Nepali name as 'Sagarmatha' . It is also known as 'Zhyamolongma' in Chinese.

Tenzing Sherpa and Edmund Hillary

                                  

                                           Mount Everest is proved to be the attraction centre for all types of tourists.Many National and International climbers are trying to reach the top of the world.The first person to climb Mount Everest was a Nepali citizen 'Tenzing Sherpa' in 1953 with a citizen of NewZealand Edmund Hillary. After their sucess,many people were attracted towars it's climb .Other Nepali citizen who have climbed Mount Everest with or without oxygen are'Sundary Sherpa','Sonam Chiring','Angrita','Kazi Sherpa','Lakhpa Sherpa' and ''Temba Sherpa'.Mount Everest is world's highest peak and it is making Nepal and Nepali as higher as it is in the world.

Shanti Ban Vatika

                                          Shanti Ban Vatika lies in cone of the world's most beautiful place Pokhara valley(28'10" N to 28'16" N Latitude and 83'52" E to 84'2" E Longtitude ) .It is the forest area that lies in the side of Seti river. It lies in the Pokhara sub-metropolitan Ward No. 9 and 10. This forest is extended as East and West due yo flowing of Seti river in the middle. This forest area lies in the height of 775 metres above the sea level.

                                          According to Pokhara Geographical Development Project -2031 ,the forest has been classified as 'Natural forest' .This forest is the appropriate atmosphere in the pollution of the growing residental area . This place is also popular among the National and International tourists.

Present condition of Shanti Ban Vatika

                                           The forest lies in a very important place of Pokhara valley . The unique geographical location ,Gorge Eco-system including different types of animals and value of view are the pride of Pokhara.                                           The protection and promotion of the forest can be done by making forestry garden and entertainment centre like parks and reserves to infuence the Eco-system of the forest . The trees of the forest are randomly cut down by the residence of the area . This has vanished the existence of animals and destructed the natural resources.

Suggestions for Management

                                           Many acts have been carried out for the protection and promotion of Shanti Ban Vatika.Some of the suggestions to make the forest the attraction of Pokhara, the following steps should be followed.

• Shanti Ban Vatika Conservation and Development Guidelines should be prepared.

• The random construction should be banned.

• A committee should be established for the conservation and development of the forest.

• Strict rules should be followed against the random utilization of resources.
